DoT invitations ministries, business tie-up to construct 5G use-case ecosystems

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has invited expression of curiosity from varied stakeholders for partnerships to construct 5G use-case ecosystems centered on customers and business wants.

An inter-ministerial committee, chaired by Member (Technology) of the Digital Communications Commission with representatives from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Science and Technology, and different ministries such because the agriculture, well being, city affairs, schooling, energy, mines, commerce and others has additionally been shaped. The committee will operate beneath the steering of the telecom secretary, an official launch from the DoT mentioned.

The new partnership programme can be referred to as “5G Vertical Engagement and Partnership Program (VEPP)”, the DoT mentioned.

To expedite the event of use instances for the business, the DoT mentioned it could, in partnership with different ministries, state governments and start-up hubs, “facilitate necessary approvals, regulatory clearances to enable use case prototyping, pilots, demos, trials at the user or vertical industry premises”.
