AHMEDABAD: Police arrested three miscreants and detained a minor for allegedly tearing banners and posters put up on the event of Parshuram Jayanti within the Vasna space of Ahmedabad within the early hours of Tuesday, an official stated.
Residents of Vasna had organised a ‘maha aarti’ at a temple to have a good time Lord Parshuram’s start anniversary and put up posters and banners saying the identical within the space on late Monday evening, he stated.
“When they were putting up banners in Chamunda Nagar part of Vasna, some local youths raised an objection as they did not want those banners near their locality. During early hours, these youths, out of that grudge, tore apart some banners, posters and also broke a plaque on which Parshuram Chowk was written,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhagirathsinh Jadeja.
After receiving a criticism from the organisers, police checked the CCTV footage and recognized 4 miscreants, one among them a minor, stated Jadeja.
Three of them had been arrested, whereas the minor was detained and all 4 had been booked beneath IPC part 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, meant to outrage spiritual emotions of any class by insulting its faith or spiritual beliefs), the DCP added.
