Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag stated that Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) means of approaching the sport has modified below head coach Sanjay Bangar and skipper Faf du Plessis. The Challengers are set to lock horns with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) within the Eliminator on Wednesday, May 25 on the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Sehwag acknowledged that below Virat Kohli as skipper, the RCB gamers used to get dropped from the taking part in XI after just a few poor performances. However, the Nawab of Najafgarh talked about that du Plessis hasn’t made plenty of adjustments this season other than just a few right here and there.
KOHLI GIVES ADVICE
“The arrival of Sanjay Bangar as head coach and a new captain has changed RCB’s thinking. We have seen how Virat Kohli used to think, as he used to drop a player after no performance in 2-3 games. But Bangar and Du Plessis have kept the team almost consistent throughout. Except Patidar for Anuj Rawat, I don’t think they made any changes due to poor performance,” Sehwag was quoted as saying.
“If an Indian player had been captain and if Virat Kohli had given him some advice, he might have had to accept it under pressure. So this is what has changed with du Plessis as captain. Sanjay Bangar has also worked with Kohli and he can have a conversation with him about that although he gives advice, the team wants to do something else,” he added.
Last 12 months, Kohli stepped down because the skipper of the RCB after the crew did not win the IPL. Thereafter, the ‘Play Bold’ Army appointed du Plessis as their skipper. The Challengers certified for the playoffs after Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) of their final league match a few days in the past. RCB are but to get their palms on the coveted IPL trophy after making their debut again in 2008.
