The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday imposed limits on the federal authorities’s authority to challenge sweeping rules to scale back carbon emissions from energy crops in a ruling that may undermine President Joe Biden’s plans to sort out local weather change.
The courtroom’s 6-3 ruling restricted the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) authority to manage greenhouse gasoline emissions from current coal- and gas-fired energy crops beneath the landmark Clean Air Act anti-pollution legislation. Biden’s administration is at the moment engaged on new rules.
