Woman trampled to loss of life by wild elephant in Kerala’s Attappadi

PALAKKAD: A girl was trampled to loss of life by a wild elephant in entrance of her husband at their home at Attappadi in Kerala’s Palakkad district on Thursday.

The incident occurred within the morning at round 2.30 in Plamaram in Kavundikkal, Attapadi. The deceased has been recognized as Maleeswari, 45, spouse of Sivakumar. Sivakumar and Maleeswari had come out of their home after listening to the noise of the timber being felled and their cattle cries.

On popping out, Sivakumar seen a lone wild elephant knocking down the branches of timber close to the home. He requested his spouse to go inside. But the wild elephant charged at her and trampled her to loss of life.

Sivaraman ran to the home of his brother positioned close by and took shelter. Though the wild elephant chased Sivaraman for a ways, it later got here again and stood close to the physique of Maleeswari.

Later, the locals and relations chased the elephant away and took the physique of Maleeswari to the hospital.
