Pretoria Capitals, one of many 6 franchises within the upcoming T20 league held by Cricket South Africa, on Saturday confirmed two new signings for the inaugural version of the event, which might be performed in January-February 2023.
The JSW Group, which co-owns the Delhi Capitals franchise within the Indian Premier League, introduced South Africa pacer Anrich Norje and uncapped pacer Migael Pretorious as their first two signings.
Anrich Nortje, who has donned the South African colors since 2019, has performed 30 video games for DC over 3 seasons, with 43 wickets to his title. 27-year-old Migael Pretorius, however, has taken over 50 home T20 wickets, and is but to make his worldwide debut.
Pretoria Capitals’ announcement comes days after Mumbai Indians’ owned MI Cape Town introduced Kagiso Rabada, Dewald Brevis, Rashid Khan, Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone as their marquee gamers.
Owners of Lucknow Super Giants, RP Sanjiv Goenka Group introduced Quiton de Kock, Jason Holder, Reece Topley, Kyle Mayers and Prenelan Subrayan as their marquee gamers within the CSA T20 league.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ owned-side named Jos Buttler, Obed McCoy and Corbin Bosch as their signings.
Speaking on the event, Parth Jindal, Owner, Pretoria Capitals stated, “Anrich Nortje has been an integral part of the growth and success of Delhi Capitals. So when we decided to expand our cricketing footprint to his country, he was always going to be an automatic choice for us.
“I believe Anrich will bring to Pretoria Capitals the same kind of fiery performances and off-field calmness we’ve seen him display at DC. I’d also like to welcome Migael Pretorius, who boasts of an impressive domestic track record, to our Capitals family.
“It is indeed a proud moment for us, as Delhi Capitals is now beyond Delhi,” Jindal stated. “South Africa is little doubt one of many world’s largest sports-loving nations, and we are able to’t wait to enthrall the followers there with our passionate model of cricket,” Jindal added.
