Indian-origin UK prime minister candidate Rishi Sunak visited the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple, the UK headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) on Thursday together with spouse Akshata Murthy to ring in Janmashtami celebrations.
Taking to Twitter, Sunak wrote, “Today I visited the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple with my wife Akshata to celebrate Janmashtami, in advance of the popular Hindu festival celebrating Lord Krishna’s birthday.”

Sunak, who stormed into the ultimate two within the race for the PM publish, is, nevertheless, trailing behind his rival, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.
