The Indian Embassy in Washington, DC paid tribute to the daddy of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his 153rd beginning anniversary on the Gandhi Memorial Center.

Floral tributes have been paid at a number of installations of Gandhi’s statue together with in New York, San Francisco and Houston.

Born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar city of Gujarat, Mahatma Gandhi adopted a non-violent resistance and was on the forefront of the liberty battle in opposition to British colonial rule.
Globally, Gandhi’s beginning anniversary is well known because the International Day of Non-Violence. Several occasions have been held in India and the world over to mark the event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Speaker Om Birla and Congress president Sonia Gandhi have been amongst those that supplied floral tributes to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi.
