By India Today Web Desk: Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old US man, was manhandled by police following his arrest for a site visitors violation within the metropolis of Memphis. The officers laughed, boasted, kneeled on the Black man as he lay dying.
Bodycam footage confirmed Nichols on the bottom, pleading for assist, at instances crying “mom!” as officers rained down punches and kicks at his face. He died in hospital on January 10, three days later.
In footage that captures Nichols’s arrest, he’s heard saying, “I didn’t do anything.” But the officers pepper spray and subdue him earlier than pinning him to the bottom.

On the physique digicam footage, one officer might be heard saying that he was happy Nichols had been detained after initially fleeing from police.

Nichols’s mom has accused police of initially attempting to cowl up her son’s beating, coming to her door to say he had been arrested for drunk driving and pepper-sprayed and tasered after being tough to handcuff.
