By India Today Sports Desk: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has named his 5 favorite children to observe within the Indian Premier League. Speaking to Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the event, the previous BCCI president has spoken about his 5 favourites and the potential they carry in the way forward for cricket.
“The best in the business is Suryakumar Yadav. Obviously, you don’t consider him a youngster anymore, but having said that, among the young players, Prithvi Shaw has a lot of talent in the T20 format, and I think Rishabh Pant,” Ganguly stated on Star Sports.
While Shaw will likely be taking part in within the IPL for Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant has been dominated out of the event and is recovering from a horrific automotive accident. Pant totalled his automotive again in December 2022 and needed to bear a number of surgical procedures.
“He (Shaw) is only 23 (25). He has got the world at his feet; Rishabh Pant is the No. 2. I would keep a look at Ruturaj Gaikwad, how he keeps playing. I think these are the three batsmen,” Ganguly stated.
The former captain, well-known for giving younger pacers an opportunity in his taking part in days, stated that Umran Malik has the nerve of the followers within the IPL.
“Umran Malik is one who will in all probability if he stays match, will proceed to maintain the followers within the sport due to his real tempo,” Ganguly said.
Struggling to figure out his 5th choice, Ganguly finally arrived at his conclusion and called Shubman Gill as his final choice in the tournament.
“Yes exactly, that’s the name which slipped my mind. But I think my fifth player would be Shubman Gill. So, it’s Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, Surya probably heads the list, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Umran Malik and Shubman Gill,” Ganguly concluded his chat.
