By India Today World Desk: A senior European Union (EU) official on Friday mentioned that the 27-nation bloc would reply with sanctions if China offers weapons to Russia in its warfare with Ukraine.
Calling it an absolute “red line”, the EU official warned China towards supplying weapons to Russia, Reuters reported.
The feedback echo remarks by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz who additionally warned Beijing towards offering such assist to Moscow because it continues to combat in Ukraine.
In a speech to the German parliament, Scholz mentioned, “Don’t deliver any weapons to the aggressor Russia”.
While China denied any intention to arm Russia, US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby on Friday mentioned that the previous may nonetheless take the escalatory step of offering deadly navy assist to Russia, in line with CNN.
