By Loveena Tandon: Members of the Indian-origin neighborhood gathered outdoors the Indian High Commission in London on Tuesday in a solidarity present, days after the Indian flag was pulled down by pro-Khalistan protesters. Nick, a UK police officer, joined within the present of help as he danced to a Bollywood music.
“Everyone was having a good time and I thought why not. Community engagement. Thank you India,” a jubilant Nick informed India Today.
The demonstration had individuals from throughout. Some in a private capability, whereas others have been representing an organisation. Some had tricolour painted on their cheeks in a vibrant show of colors.

“The demonstration is to show that wherever we are from, we are one. We are here to show that whoever attacks us, we will come here and keep coming in big numbers to show our strength and support. We will not bow down. Jai Hind,” mentioned Sarika Handa from Inspiring Indian Woman, an organisation of Indian-origin girls within the UK.

Ikra Khan, who was a vigorous presence on the demonstration, mentioned she has lived and travelled throughout 10 international locations however feels most related to her Indian roots.
“We are here to celebrate community. Everyone here is from different parts of India. I am proud of today,” Ikra told India Today.
The demonstration ended with some making their way to the balcony, from where the Indian flag was pulled down by pro-Khalistan protesters on March 19, to wave the tricolour and sing the national anthem.
“You pulled down one flag, we’re right here with a whole lot,” mentioned Kashyap Pandya, holding a large Indian flag.
