NEW DELHI: The Congress on Sunday launched a scathing assault on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the newest violence in Manipur, saying a horrific tragedy is unfolding there whereas the PM is obsessed about his “self-coronation.”
A delegation led by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge shall be calling on President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday morning regarding the situation throughout the state, in accordance with celebration primary secretary Jairam Ramesh.

Earlier throughout the day, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said nearly 40 armed militants involved in torching houses and firing at civilians have been killed by security forces since they began an operation to ship peace to the northeastern state beset by ethnic rioting.
Separately, law enforcement officials on Sunday said a minimal of two of us had been killed and 12 injured in a number of conditions of firing upon civilians and clashes between militants and security forces given that early hours of the day.
