Special Frontier Force commando Naima Tenzing (51), who was martyred on the India-China border, was cremated with military honors in Leh today. BJP general secretary Ram Madhav also visited Naima. People do not know much about the special force in which Naima was posted. The news of martyrdom of this force’s soldiers is not usually known, but this time it did not happen.
Tejjing, who was in the development regiment of Tibetans
, was martyred during the operation against China at the black top of Tenzing Chushul. On the night of 29-30 August, Indian troops foiled an attempt to infiltrate China in the Pangong area of Ladakh. The operation also included the Development Regiment of Tibetan Jawans. In this regiment, the exiled people of Tibet and the soldiers specializing in guerrilla warfare are given preference.
The government had not informed about the martyrdom of Naima
Tenzing was a company leader in the Special Frontier Force (SFF). He was in the for 33 years. This force was formed during the Indo-China war in 1962. There was no official announcement by the Central Government regarding the martyrdom of Tenzing. The Ministry of Defense had issued a statement on the night of 29-30 August about the incursions by Chinese troops and the expulsion of them by Indian soldiers.
Namgyal Dolkar Laghiri, an exiled member of the Tibetan parliament, told AFP News Agency that a soldier of Tibetan descent was martyred during the conflict. Naima is survived by his wife and three children.
