SHILLONG: A person was arrested after he allegedly threw stones on the residence of Meghalaya minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday night, police mentioned.
The incident occurred round 7.30 pm, Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills Sylvester Nongtynger mentioned.
The man, recognized as Teibor Lyting — a resident of Malki, is being interrogated to know if he acted alone or with a bunch, and in addition to seek out the motive of the assault, the officer mentioned.
According to the minister’s household, they heard noises of glass shattering.
“The attacker pelted stones twice following which we alerted the police,” a member of the family mentioned.
