Fresh cracks in homes in Joshimath’s Pagnau village, 9 households evacuated to aid camps

DEHRADUN: The penalties of the devastating monsoon rains have began to look. The administration has shifted 9 households to aid camps after homes abruptly cracked after a landslide submerged land in Pagnau village within the Joshimath space amid water disasters. After the submergence of land in Joshimath, Karnaprayag and Kalsi, now 9 households of Pagnau village of Joshimath have been shifted to aid camps by the administration for security. On Saturday, Joshimath Sub Divisional Magistrate Kumkum Joshi visited the village and took inventory of the land catastrophe.

“There are 120 families living in Pagnau village, while preparations are being made to relocate 35 families who have come under the ambit of the land disaster,” Joshimath SDM Kumkum Joshi advised The New Indian Express.

Dalbir Singh Pawar, former space panchayat member of Darmi, Molta and Pagano, advised this newspaper, “It is a natural calamity, 40 families have been affected due to leakage of lake water. The government should make immediate arrangements for the rehabilitation of these affected families”.

In Devrana village of Pauri, many homes have developed huge cracks and about 32 households of the village are at risk.

According to data acquired from sources, on account of torrential rains in Devrana of Dandamandal space of Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district, many homes have developed cracks about two toes vast and many homes have been utterly broken. The villagers have demanded the displacement of the village.

“The motorway of the village has also been badly damaged after the cracks, due to which the village has been cut off from Rishikesh market and block headquarters Yamkeshwar,” native villager Rajendra Dobriyal advised this newspaper.
