Administration came into action due to Harda blast: Collector inspected the firecracker factory, gave instructions to strengthen security measures and conduct mock drill

There was a blast in a firecracker factory in Harda, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday 6 February. 11 people have died in this incident, while many injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital. This incident is being discussed across the country. After the devastation caused by the massive explosion in the firecracker factory in Harda, the administration in the capital Raipur has also come into alert mode. Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh today inspected the Star Pyrotech Firecracker Factory located in village Bhelwadih in Abhanpur tehsil. Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh and SDM Naveen Thakur were also present with him. The Collector inspected the manufacturing, maintenance, safety norms and licenses of firecrackers in the premises.

Collector gave instructions to strengthen security measures

The Collector said that adequate number of fire extinguishers and sand should be arranged to extinguish the fire in the factories. Mark water points and pipe lines at various places in the campus, so that in case of disaster, fire can be extinguished quickly using water. Contact numbers of ambulance service, fire brigade, nearest police station and important officials of the district administration and their offices should be posted on the campus. Dr. Gaurav Singh said that the workers working there should be informed about the chemicals used in making firecrackers and their safety. Also provide them training from time to time. The Collector said that mock drill should be conducted in the factory within a fixed period of time so that quick measures can be adopted in case of disaster. Besides, the health of the workers should also be checked.

The Collector inspected various rooms in the premises and gave instructions to remove tin sheds at all places and use asbestos sheets in their place. He asked the industrial health officials to inspect the license of the factory in coordination with the central government agency. On this occasion, Assistant Director of Industrial Health and Safety, Vivek Chelkar and related officers were also present.

Team formed to check safety of firecracker factories

It is noteworthy that a team has also been formed on the instructions of Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh to check the security of firecracker factories located in the district. Classic Spallers located in village Baktra of Mandirhasaud and Sabir Ahmed Sons factories located in village Navagaon will be investigated by the team of SDM Arang Pushpendra Sharma in which CSP Kalpana Verma and Assistant Director of Industrial Health Safety Department Ashwani Patel will be members.

The team of Arang SDM Pushpendra Sharma will also investigate the Munir Ahmed and Brothers factory located in Mandir Hasaud village Darba Mandi. In this, CSP Kalpana Verma, Assistant Director of Industrial Health and Safety Department, Vivek Chelkar will be members.

Similarly, the team of SDM Naveen Kumar Thakur of Abhanpur will investigate the Star Pyrotech factory located in village Bhelwadih of Abhanpur. In which CSP Jitendra Chandrakar, Assistant Director of Industrial Health and Safety Department Vivek Kumar Chelkar will be members.
