Dheeraj Sahu:- ED is today interrogating Congress Rajya Sabha member Dheeraj Prasad Sahu in the money laundering case related to former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. Apart from this, Sahibganj DC Ramniwas Yadav has also reached the ED office today. The BMW car recovered by ED from Soren’s residence in Shantiniketan in Delhi on January 29 is being said to be related to Dheeraj Sahu. This car was registered at the address of Manesar, Haryana. On Wednesday, the ED team had knocked at this address. It was revealed that this property belonged to Dheeraj Sahu.
After this, summons were issued to him and he was asked to reach ED’s Ranchi office today and record his statement. Sahu reached ED office at around 11 o’clock. ED would like to know from him why he gave BMW car to Hemant Soren? Apart from politics, what is his dealings with Hemant Soren? It is noteworthy that the biggest ever Income Tax raid was conducted on the residences and locations of Dheeraj Sahu in December last. In this raid, more than Rs 351 crore in cash was recovered from their locations in Odisha. Here, Deputy Commissioner of Sahibganj district Ramniwas Yadav also reached the ED office at around 11 am today on the summons of ED.
In January, ED had recovered Rs 8 lakh in cash and 14 9 mm bullets during a raid at his official residence. ED had also searched two locations at his native place in Jaipur. There is information that many investment documents have been recovered from there. ED has also found in its investigation that Ramniwas Yadav did not withdraw money from his salary account for two years after posting as Sahibganj DC. ED has questioned him twice in the Sahibganj illegal mining scam on 23 January and 6 February last year. Now the scope of investigation in this case has increased further. (IANS)
