In place of Virendra Kumar, Preeti Maithil posted in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has been given the responsibility of Additional Secretary of the Labor Department. Virendra Kumar has been made Additional Secretary in the New and Renewable Energy Department. Actually, 59 minor children were found making liquor in Som Distillery. This action has been taken due to child labor in the factory.
This is the whole matter
On June 15, 59 children were found working in Som Distillery, a liquor company in Sehatganj of Raisen district. The team of Child Protection Commission rescued the children on the complaint of the NGO ‘Bachpan Bachao’. It was told that child labourers were brought to the factory through school buses and were made to work for 15 hours a day for less money. The hands of these child labourers had started melting due to chemicals.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had given instructions to take strict action in this case. As soon as the CM came into action mode, the in-charge District Excise Officer Kanhaiyalal Atulkar, M/s Som Distilleries Private Limited, Sehtganj was suspended. Along with this, three excise sub-inspectors of the district Preeti Shailendra Uike, Shaifali Verma and Mukesh Kumar were suspended. Today, on Wednesday, the license of Som Distillery Company has been suspended in the child labor case. Som Distillery has been sealed for 20 days.
