IND vs ZIM: The host team has won the first match of the five-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe by 13 runs. In this match played at Harare Sports Club, India won the toss and decided to bowl first. After which Zimbabwe set a target of 116 runs in front of India in the stipulated 20 overs, but the Indian team could score only 102 runs for 10 wickets in 19.5 overs. Team India has to face defeat just 7 days after becoming the world champion. This was Zimbabwe’s third win against India in T20I.

8 batsmen of the Indian team could not even touch the double digit in terms of runs. Zimbabwe had put 115 runs on the scoreboard while playing first, but when India came to chase the target, more than half of the team had returned to the pavilion within 50 runs. At one time India’s score was 47 runs for 6 wickets. Although a small but important partnership of 23 runs between Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar raised Team India’s hopes, the Zimbabwean team seemed in a different mood. Captain Sikandar Raza created the most problems for India, who took 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs.

This is India’s first defeat in T20 cricket in 2024

It is worth noting that Team India has not yet suffered any defeat in T20 matches in the year 2024. At the same time, India became the world champion by remaining undefeated in the T20 World Cup. Talking about 2024, the Indian team has clean swept Afghanistan apart from remaining undefeated in the T20 World Cup. But Zimbabwe has now become the first team to defeat Team India in a T20 match in 2024. At the same time, Shubman Gill’s captaincy career has started with a defeat.
