Ranchi. Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has resigned. He has left the post after 152 days of becoming the Chief Minister. Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who has been released from jail, will become the Chief Minister again. He can take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday evening. Earlier, Champai Soren submitted his resignation to Governor CP Radhakrishnan at 7:20 pm on Wednesday evening. After his resignation, Hemant Soren staked claim to form the government. Along with Hemant Soren and Champai Soren, Congress President Rajesh Thakur also reached to meet the Governor.
Earlier in the day, a meeting of JMM, Congress and RJD was held at the Chief Minister’s residence, in which Hemant Soren was again elected as the leader of the legislative party. Only after that Champai Soren went to the Raj Bhavan to resign. After resigning, he said- I worked according to the decision of the alliance. After this Hemant Soren said- Champai ji has said his point. This is the decision of the alliance.
After the Chief Minister resigned, Hemant Soren staked claim to form the government. He also submitted the letter of support of all the MLAs of the alliance to the Governor. After this, the Governor invited him to form the government. Before receiving the invitation from the Governor, all the MLAs were asked to stay in the Chief Minister’s residence. It is worth noting that Hemant Soren was arrested by the ED on 31 January in the alleged land scam. Two days later, on February 2, Champai Soren took oath as the Chief Minister. Assembly elections are going to be held in the state in November. That is why Hemant Soren becoming the Chief Minister again is considered important.
