    Possibility of flood due to heavy rainfall in eastern Madhya Pradesh.

    Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal: A low pressure area is formed over northern Odisha and adjoining West Bengal. The monsoon trough is once again passing through Madhya Pradesh. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some districts of Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa, Sagar, Bhopal, Narmadapuram and Gwalior division.

    Rainfall is three per cent more than normal

    According to meteorologists, the low pressure area has moved ahead and weakened. Currently, it has come to northern Chhattisgarh in the form of a cyclone in the upper part of the air. In this season, from June 1 to 8:30 am on July 27, a total of 420.2 mm of rain has occurred in the state, which is three percent more than the normal rainfall (407.0 mm).

    According to the information received from the Meteorological Centre, the low pressure area formed in northern Odisha and its surrounding areas has weakened and is now present in the form of a cyclone in the upper part of the air over northern Chhattisgarh.

    The monsoon trough is present from Sri Ganganagar, Sikar, Gwalior, Sidhi to the Bay of Bengal. An offshore trough is present from South Gujarat to North Kerala. A shear zone of opposite winds is present over Maharashtra.

    Possibility of heavy rainfall in eastern Madhya Pradesh

    Former senior meteorologist of Meteorological Centre, Ajay Shukla said that the cyclone formed in the upper part of the air over northern Chhattisgarh is expected to reach eastern Madhya Pradesh on Sunday morning. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some places in the districts of Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa, Sagar division on Sunday. Due to this, there is also a possibility of flood situation in many districts.

    Apart from this, there are chances of heavy rainfall in some districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Indore, Gwalior division. Light to moderate rainfall may occur in the districts of the remaining division as well. The series of rains may continue for one or two days.

    How much rain fell where

    On Saturday, from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Narmadapuram recorded 100 mm rain, Pachmarhi 99 mm, Guna 40 mm, Seoni 36 mm, Chhindwara 31 mm, Khargone 27 mm, Raisen 23 mm, Betul 19 mm, Ujjain 18 mm, Indore and Mandla 15 mm, Satna 14 mm, Bhopal, Ratlam and Narsinghpur 13 mm, Malajkhand 11 mm, Sidhi, Khandwa and Shivpuri 7 mm, Dhar 6 mm, Sagar 2 mm and Jabalpur recorded 0.2 mm rain.
