Navdunia representative, Bhopal. Due to heavy rainfall in the month of Sawan, Bada Talab, Bhadbhada, Kaliyasot dams have become completely full. To control their water level, the gates of the dam were started to be opened from Friday morning. The gates of Kaliyasot dam were opened for full 34 hours. Due to which about 31 metric cubic meter (MCM) water has been released. Similarly, the gates of Bhadbhada dam were opened after controlling the water level of Bada Talab. However, the gates of both the dams have been closed on Saturday. During this time, police force was also deployed for security purposes.
13 gates of Kaliyasot Dam and 7 gates of Bhadbhada were opened
Due to heavy rainfall, the water level of the Kolans river was continuously rising. Due to this, the big pond became full, so seven out of 11 gates of Bhadbhada Dam and all 13 gates of Kaliyasot Dam were opened. The first gate of Kaliyasot Dam was opened at 9 am on Friday. After this, as the water level kept rising, all 13 gates were opened.
1047 MCFC water released from Bhadbhada Dam
The first gate of Bhadbhada Dam was opened on Friday morning at 9.10 am as soon as the highest water level of Bada Talab reached 1666.80 feet. Due to continuous inflow of water from Kolans river, seven out of 11 gates were opened one by one. These gates remained open till 3 pm on Saturday afternoon i.e. for 30 hours. A total of 1047 metric cubic feet of water has been released from Bhadbhada. The water level of Bada Talab has been kept at 1666.40 feet. Water is still continuously coming into Bada Talab from Kolans river.
