    The effect of heavy rain is being seen a lot in Satna and Maihar districts. Due to continuous rain for the last three days, floods have wreaked such havoc that houses, shops, farms, barns, roads, everything has been submerged.

    Due to heavy rains, rivers and streams overflowed. Fields were submerged. On one hand, people are facing a lot of problems due to rain, on the other hand, farmers are happy to see water overflowing in the fields. According to the information received, the rain that had occurred in the last fifteen days was insufficient for farming.

    Due to this, farmers were waiting for heavy rains for a long time. After the rain, paddy planting work will gain momentum. At the same time, due to rain, the roads got flooded and there was waterlogging at many places.

    The cleaning of drains for water drainage was not done by the Gram Panchayats and Municipal bodies, due to which the residents had to face problems in movement due to waterlogging. This exposed the reality of the system. Due to the rain, people remained confined to their homes.

    Due to rain, water filled the roads at many places. There was a traffic jam for several hours on the way to Maa Sharda Devi temple due to water coming over the culvert. On Delha Jariyari road, where a culvert was recently built for road and water drainage at a cost of 12 crore 84 lakh, traffic was disrupted due to water coming over the road. People also faced a lot of trouble due to trees falling on the roads at many places.

To get rid of this problem, Maihar Collector Rani Batad inspected the areas affected by heavy rain, Lakhwar, Girgita Amiliya Kala and directed to accommodate the affected people in government schools.

    The Collectorate Campus and Post Graduate College of Maihar are in the grip of heavy rains. Due to the rising water level of the Lilji river, the entire campus is flooded with water. The road leading to the Collectorate was closed on Saturday itself. People were able to move with great difficulty.

    After the rain on Saturday night, the entire campus is flooded with water. The collectorate and the college were built in a hurry, but proper transport arrangements were not made. As a result, even a little rain fills the roads with water and there is a lot of difficulty in commuting.

    Many kutcha houses collapsed in the rain

    Ramadhar Namdev’s house in village Kanhwara collapsed due to rain. He did not even have a place to hide his head. The ration material was also completely spoiled due to the collapse of the house. Ramadhar Namdev says that he had applied for Awas Yojana 5 years ago. Houses of about 99 percent of the people in the locality have been built, but he did not get the benefit of the Awas Yojana. There is also news of collapse of many kutcha houses in village Judwani of Maihar district.
