The jam lasted for about two hours and was cleared at 11 am after the assurance of the MLA and SDM. During this time, long queues of vehicles were formed on the highway. 45-year-old Vinod Verma, son of Ramsanehi Verma, resident of Rajholi, worked at Brij Ki Rasoi Hotel located on Lashkar Road. On Thursday evening around 4:30 pm, he was coming to the hotel from the bus stand on bike number MP 30 ZA 5084. Suddenly, at the turn in front of the Nagar Palika office, a driver turned the tractor towards Virendra Nagar.
Due to this the bike collided with the tractor. After this it collided with the divider. Vinod got injured in the head due to not wearing a helmet. Due to this he got seriously injured. Passersby sent him to the district hospital for treatment in critical condition. After examination in the trauma center, the doctor declared him dead.
Relatives allege that police filed an FIR against an unknown vehicle
After the incident, the Kotwali police had registered an FIR against the unknown driver. Regarding this, the relatives reached the highway at 8.50 am on Friday after the post-mortem. The men and women kept the dead body on the highway and sat on the road.
The jam lasted for two hours
On receiving information about the jam in the morning, Kotwali SI Devidin Anurag reached the spot first. When the relatives did not agree after the SI’s persuasion, Kotwali TI Praveen Chauhan arrived. The TI showed the video on mobile and told the relatives that the tractor has been caught.
After this, CSP Arun Uike reached there. The relatives insisted on calling the MLA. At 10.30, MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha reached the spot. The MLA discussed with the relatives and listened to them.
During this time, SDM Akhilesh Sharma arranged for Rs 4 lakh assistance from the government level and Rs 10,000 cash for the funeral. The MLA said that every possible help will be provided at the government level. After this, the relatives opened the blockade at 11 o’clock.
