Naiduniya representative, Indore. Travel operators were given one month’s time to operate long distance buses from outside the city limits. On Thursday, action was taken by a committee formed by the administration when buses were not operated from outside even after the stipulated period. In this, offices of seven travel operators were sealed and six buses were seized.
Collector Ashish Singh gave three days’ time
After the action in the morning, the bus operators gave a written assurance of operating the buses from outside the city, then the administration opened their offices in the evening. Collector Ashish Singh has given three days’ time to operate the buses from outside.
Long distance buses have to be taken out of the city to ease traffic in the city. The district administration had recently constituted a committee of officers to stop illegal bus stands and operation of buses in the city.
The offices of bus operators were sealed
The committee took action in Chhoti Gwal Toli and South Tukoganj area on Thursday and sealed the offices of bus operators. SDM Dhanshyam Dhangar said that action was taken against the offices of seven bus operators. The operators of the said travel agencies were instructed to operate from outside the city within a month. Even after the completion of the time limit, the buses were being operated from the city.
Buses were fined
RTO Pradeep Sharma said that the six seized buses were released after collecting a fine of Rs. 60,000. Action taken against Hans Travels for the first time. The bus stand is operated by Hans Travels located near Dhakkanwala Kua in South Tukoganj. Buses keep coming and going here throughout the day.
Pickup points will also have to be closed
Entry of long distance buses into the city will be completely banned. Apart from this, the pick-up points of Ring Road and AB Road will also have to be closed. Booking of luggage will also not be done within the city limits. Travel agencies will only be able to operate their booking offices in the city and passengers will have to be brought to the office by vehicle till the bypass.
