Shopkeepers will have to pay monthly parking charges of Rs 300 for two-wheelers and Rs 1400 for four-wheelers.

    This system will be implemented in a week. Collector Ashish Singh held a meeting with the officials of various market associations located in the central area of ​​the city. In this, parking at the multi-level and other parking places of the Municipal Corporation was discussed.

    All the market association officials have given their consent to this decision. In the meeting, the traders also raised the issue of illegal encroachment on the road and footpath. Rajkumar Sharma of Jail Road Association said that the traders and employees will not be able to bear the high parking charges.

    Struggle with the occupiers for three years

    It was decided to reduce the price. Akshay Jain, president of Indore Retail Garments Association, said that they have been fighting against road occupiers for the past three years. Four days after the removal action, the same situation arises again.

    The mission of traffic management can move forward only after a permanent solution to this problem is found. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shivam Verma and Additional Commissioner NN Pandey along with other officials were also present in the meeting.

    CCTV cameras will be installed at parking places

    Collector Ashish Singh also gave instructions to install CCTV cameras at parking places, cleanliness, and make arrangements for security guards. Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation NN Pandey has been made the nodal officer for the above arrangements.

    Similar meetings will now be held with various market associations on the second Wednesday of every month. Corporation officials, traders association and traffic in-charge will make a complete road map of the parking system. Parking spots will also be marked on Google Map.

    It was decided in the meeting that vehicles from Jail Road and nearby markets will be parked at Maharaja Complex, Palika Plaza, Kothari Market. While vehicles from Sarafa, Rajwada and nearby markets will be parked at Subhash Chowk, Khajuri Bazaar and Nandlalpura parking. Vehicles of shopkeepers as well as employees will be parked here.
