    Rau-Khalghat four lane.

Naiduniya representative, Dhar. Ganpati Ghat of Rau-Khalghat four lane, which has witnessed the maximum number of road accidents and deaths in Madhya Pradesh, has become a laboratory. Sometimes dividers are placed here, sometimes big speed breakers are made. Despite this, the series of accidents and deaths has not stopped for a decade. In the new plan, it was decided to stop the vehicles for a period of 30-30 seconds for three months and then move them forward, but it has been cancelled even before implementation.

About 15 thousand vehicles pass through this ghat on the Agra-Bombay national highway every day. If the vehicles are stopped for 30 seconds, then only about 3 thousand vehicles can be passed in a day. The remaining 12 thousand vehicles will be in a rush every day.

It is worth mentioning that due to the steep slope on the lane leading to Ganpati Ghat, accidents happen every day due to brake failure. 3700 accidents have happened on the ghat in 15 years. 400 people have died in these and more than 1850 have been injured. The new road will take three more months and a new 9 km road is also being built to prevent accidents on the ghat, but its work is so complicated and slow. It will take about 3 more months to build it.

    These measures are being taken

On Saturday, a zigzag pattern has been created on the road by placing iron bars, due to which vehicles are passing by in a zigzag manner. Two police personnel have also been deployed, who are asking the drivers to slow down and drive in their lanes. This has slowed down the speed of vehicles.

    Preparing another plan

Monika Singh, SDOP, Dhamnod said that vehicles are being taken out slowly through zigzag. Police has been deployed. We are making changes in the plan of stopping vehicles for 30 seconds and then letting them go. 15 thousand vehicles pass through here every day. If we stop vehicles for 30 seconds, then only about 3 thousand vehicles will be able to pass in a day. This will cause problems, so we are preparing a new plan.
