Naiduniya representative, Jabalpur: After Garib Rath, now passengers of Dayodaya Express (12182) got terrified after seeing a snake in its AC coach. The incident happened on Tuesday night at 10 o’clock, when the train was coming from Ajmer to Jabalpur. A passenger travelling in the AC coach got suspicious when he saw something under the seat. When he looked with his mobile torch, he saw a snake.
Snake rescue in two hours
This information was given to the TTE, after which the train was stopped at Kota station and a snake expert was called. Even after two hours of effort, the snake could not be found. After this, the passengers were shifted to another coach. This coach was locked and the train was sent from Kota to Jabalpur.
Snakes have come out before
Before this, on 21 September, a snake was found in the Jabalpur to Mumbai Garib Rath Express. The snakes found in two trains of Jabalpur within a week has created panic among the passengers travelling in AC coaches. Passengers are avoiding taking bedrolls and blankets during the journey.
Jabalpur Railway Division DRM Vivek Sheel says that the snake did not come out of the coach, but had entered from somewhere. The matter is being investigated.
Snakes reaching the coach from the blanket
According to sources, the part of the yard in Jabalpur where the AC coach is parked for cleaning has dirty water and weeds around it. The cleaning staff makes a bundle of blankets and keeps them outside the train and then after cleaning the coach, they take the bundle back inside the coach. During this time, snakes are entering the blankets and reaching the coach, because the mechanical department gets the blankets cleaned once a month and not every day.
