Irani Cup 2024, Tanush Kotian Century: Mumbai team has become the champion in Irani Cup 2024. Mumbai won the title after 27 years and won the 15th trophy. The heroes of Jeete were Sarfaraz Khan and Tanush Kotian. Sarfaraz scored 222 runs in the first innings, while Tanush, after taking 3 wickets, played an unbeaten inning of 114 runs in the second innings. Due to the strong performance of these two, Mumbai under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane won the title.

The decider match of Irani Cup 2024 was played between Mumbai and Rest of India at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, which ended in a draw on the 5th day. However, Mumbai was declared the winner, because in the event of a draw in the Irani Cup, the winner is decided on the basis of first innings lead. Mumbai had a lead of 121 runs in the first innings, hence the trophy went to it.

On the fifth and final day of this match, Mumbai all-rounder Tanush Kotian batted brilliantly and completed a century. This was the second first class century of his career. While playing an unbeaten inning of 114 runs, he hit 10 fours and 1 six and made a special record in his name.

This record was made in Irani Cup 2024

This century of Tanush Kotian is special because he scored this century while batting at number eight. Kotian became the first player in the history of the Iranian Cup to score more than 50 twice when ranked eighth or lower. This is a special record in itself.

    Who is Tanush Kotian?

Tanush Kotian is a batting all-rounder. He bats with his right hand and also bowls right arm offbreak.

Became a hero in Ranji Trophy 2024

This is the same Tanush Kotian, who played an important role in making Mumbai Ranji Trophy champion for the 42nd time. Last season, he took 29 wickets in 10 matches, while contributing 502 runs with the bat. He was the third top run scorer for Mumbai. After this, Rajasthan Royals included him in IPL.

    Second Ashwin can become Kotian!

This brilliant inning of Tanush Kotian strengthened Mumbai’s position and established him as a rising star in domestic cricket. Tanush Kotian is being considered as an alternative to veteran R Ashwin, who can take his place in Team India in the future.

How is your domestic cricket career?

Tanush Kotian made his Ranji debut against Saurashtra in December 2018-19. In the 29 first class matches played so far, he has taken 85 wickets and scored 1273 runs with 1 century and 12 half-centuries. He has been performing well continuously for the last 5 years.

    List A and IPL career

Kotian has taken 20 wickets in 19 List A matches and 24 wickets in 24 T20 matches. He has also played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL.
