Major information has come to light during the interrogation of Amit Chaturvedi and Sanyal Bane, accused of manufacturing 907 kg MD drugs in Bagroda industrial area near Bhopal. He has told that earlier he wanted to set up a factory in Indore but there was a high possibility of getting caught there.

In fact, due to opium producing districts like Mandsaur, Neemuch and Ratlam being near Indore, police and other agencies remain relatively more alert about drugs. In this area, action is taken from time to time against drug dealers, that is why he considered Bhopal suitable.

About a year ago, he had installed the machines in the Bagroda factory. Started making drugs nine months ago but failed thrice. The product made was not of the expected quality. After this, Sanyal Bane started making drugs with the help of some expert and was also successful.

MD drugs worth Rs 1814 crore

Let us tell you, a week ago Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Gujarat ATS had seized MD drugs and the raw material for making it in Bagroda. Both the agencies have estimated its value at Rs 1814 crore. NCB’s investigation has revealed that Sanyal Bane was engaged in drug business for more than five years. When he was caught, he was sentenced to five years in prison.

Sanyal had slight knowledge of the technology of making MD drugs. Around January this year, he had also tried to make drugs in small quantities, but could not make them properly. After this, he understood the intricacies of the technology from his other colleagues engaged in this work and was successful in making it. He also told the workers in the factory in Bhopal that in what quantity and with what ingredients should be mixed to make MD drugs.

The remand of the accused will end today

On the first day in the case, NCB and Gujarat ATS had arrested Sanyal Bane of Nashik and Amit Chaturvedi of Bhopal from the factory. On the same day, Harish Anjana was arrested along with him from Mandsaur. NCB produced them in the special court in Bhopal and took them on remand till October 14 (Monday). They will be presented in the court again on Monday. NCB’s interrogation of him is almost complete, so further remand is not expected to be sought.

Let us tell you, Harish Anjana’s associate Premsukh Patidar had also surrendered at Afzalpur police station in Mandsaur on Saturday. However, before that he had injured himself by shooting himself. NCB is bringing him to Bhopal for questioning.
