The father of one of them died today during treatment in the hospital. The family members of the deceased allege that the policemen beat the accused in the police station overnight, after which the father’s health deteriorated after seeing the injuries on his son’s body. The family members immediately took him to the hospital where he died during treatment. After this, today the family members of the deceased created a ruckus by keeping the dead body outside Arjunda police station. During this time, Gunderdehi MLA Kunwar Singh Nishad along with his family members were also sitting on a dharna in the police station premises regarding action against the accused. Seeing the matter gaining momentum, all three policemen have been attached to the line.

    The family members of the deceased told in a letter to Arjunda police station in-charge that our brother Praveen Chandel, his associates Suryakant Sharma and Sunnyjit Tiwari were kept in police custody by Arjunda police on September 15. During this time, ASI of police station Arjunda. Vishwajit Meshram, police constables Virendra Sahu and Puranik Sahu, under the influence of alcohol, beat them mercilessly throughout the night, due to which Praveen, Suryakant and Sunnyjit suffered serious injuries. The next day, when he returned from police custody, he went home and informed his family about last night’s incident. During this time, Praveen Chandel’s father became a victim of brain hemorrhage due to shock after seeing his injuries, due to which he became paralyzed. Due to this, he was admitted to United Hospital in Rajnandgaon on the night of 16 September. During treatment, he went into coma, after which he was admitted to D.K.S. of Raipur. Referred to the hospital, where he died during treatment today, September 13, at 9:30 am.

    The family members of the deceased also alleged that four days after the incident, investigator Vishwajeet Meshram instigated the doctor who filed the complaint and a caste case was leveled. The relatives of the deceased filed an FIR against the police officers, holding the police administration responsible for the death of Praveen’s father. Had demanded.

    “MLA Kunwar Singh said that he was sitting on a dharna outside the police station to get justice for the family of the deceased. “An assurance has been given to investigate the case of beating of youths within 7 days and take action against the three accused policemen. If an FIR is not filed in the case, then a fierce agitation will be carried out, for which the police administration will be held accountable.”

    Additional SP Ashok Joshi said that last month there was an incident with doctors in the hospital. In that incident, the father of one of the accused, who had committed the crime, has died. The accused has not yet been granted bail, that is why they brought his dead body and they say that the accused is the only son of the deceased, if he had been granted bail then they would be able to perform the last rites of the deceased.

    Additional SP Ashok Joshi said that the family members of the deceased had also alleged that the accused was beaten up by the police. After investigation in the case, legal action will be taken against whoever is found guilty. On the orders of SP Saheb, all three policemen have been attached, they will take legal action after 7 days on the basis of the investigation report.
