State Bureau, Naiduniya: Bhopal: On Saturday evening, the Central Election Committee of BJP announced the names of the candidates for the by-election of Budhni and Vijaypur assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. Ramakant Bhargava has been elected from Budhni as the successor of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

Bhargava is close to Shivraj

Bhargava is considered very close to Shivraj. He has also been an MP from Vidisha Lok Sabha seat. The party’s state election committee had sent Bhargava’s name to the first position in the panel. Secondly, the name of Shivraj’s son Kartikeya Singh Chauhan was sent to the central leadership in the panel. Here, State Forest Minister Ramniwas Rawat has been made the BJP candidate from Vijaypur seat.

That’s why the seats became vacant

In last year’s assembly elections, Shivraj had won from Budhni and Ramniwas Rawat had won from Vijaypur on Congress ticket. Shivraj became MP and Rawat left Congress and joined BJP and resigned the membership of the Assembly. For this reason, by-elections are being held on both the seats.

Shivraj congratulated

Shivraj wrote that hearty congratulations on the Central Election Committee declaring Ramakant Bhargava as the candidate for Budhni Assembly by-election of Madhya Pradesh and Ramniwas Rawat for Vijaypur Assembly by-election. May you fulfill the trust that the party has reposed in you and come out victorious, my best wishes to you.
