Shivam Mishra, Raipur. The State Election Committee meeting of Congress was held today at Rajiv Bhawan, in which the election candidate selection of Raipur South Assembly constituency was considered. State President Deepak Baij, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant and other prominent leaders attended the meeting.
According to sources, the Election Committee has unanimously sent a panel of two names to Delhi. Now it remains to be seen whether the high command approves the names of the State Election Committee or announces a name on its own behalf. Earlier, a few days ago, Rahul Gandhi’s team had come and conducted a survey in the South Assembly seat. The team has prepared its own panel based on that survey and submitted the report to Rahul Gandhi.

Other senior leaders of the state also participated in the election committee meeting today, including former minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, AICC secretary S.A. Sampat Kumar, AICC Secretary Jarita Laitphlang, former minister Guru Rudrakumar, former minister Jaisingh Aggarwal, former minister Dhanendra Sahu, and others.
