    Wriddhiman Saha Retirement: India’s experienced wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. He announced his retirement on his social media platform ‘X’ last night. 40-year-old Saha made his IPL debut in 2008. After this, he debuted in international cricket in the year 2010. During this period, he has played a total of 40 Test matches and nine ODIs for India. However, at present he was out of the team for a long time.

    In a post released on social media, Saha wrote, “After a wonderful journey in cricket, the current season will be my last season. I feel honored to represent Bengal for the last time. I will play Ranji Trophy for the last time before I retire. Thank you all for supporting us in this wonderful journey. Your support means a lot to me. Let’s make this season more memorable.” However, he has not given any information on whether he will play in IPL or not.

    The last test was played in the year 2021

    It is noteworthy that Saha was a part of India’s Test team for a long time before being dropped from the central contract list last year. Saha played a total of 40 Test matches for India, scoring 1353 runs at an average of 29.41, which included three centuries and six half-centuries. He played nine matches for India in ODIs, scoring only 41 runs, but he was dropped from the Indian Cricket Board’s central contract list last year. Saha was given the Man of the Match award for his memorable innings played against New Zealand in 2016. Saha played his last Test match against New Zealand in the year 2021.

    Saha has played for 5 teams in IPL

    Saha, a wicket-keeper batsman born in Shaktigarh, West Bengal, played cricket for home state team Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL along with Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans. During this period he has played 170 matches. He scored his only century in IPL in 2014 for Punjab Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders. Saha had scored a century in his first class debut match, after which he came in the sight of the selectors.
