    A five-member team headed by Dr. S.K. Pamboi will give its opinion on HMPV.

    Raipur, January 8, 2025/
    The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has directed all states to raise awareness regarding Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV). In this context, a technical committee has been formed in Chhattisgarh state to maintain continuous surveillance on the current/updated situation regarding Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) infection.

    This technical committee has been formed to prepare necessary suggestions and guidelines regarding the prevention, control, awareness, and future action plan for HMPV infection.

    The committee is chaired by Dr. S.K. Pamboi, Director, Epidemic Control. Its members include Dr. Khemraj Sonwani, Deputy Director; Dr. Dharmendra Gahai, Deputy Director; Smt. Akanksha Rana, State Consultant ISDP; and Ms. Chayanika Nag, State Consultant ISDP. This technical committee will submit its report/opinion to the Health Department from time to time regarding HMPV in the state.
