    Tata Steel Chess 2025 LIVE Score: D Gukesh will take on Russian Grandmaster Vladimir Fedoseev in Round 2 of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025 on Sunday (19 January) at Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands. The youngest world chess champion of all time, Gukesh, 18, defeated local favorite Anish Giri in Round 1 on Saturday despite reaching the country only a few hours before the tournament began.

    This was Gukesh’s first match since he became the world chess champion last month after beating Ding Liren in the World Chess Championship 2024 in Singapore.

    Gukesh was not the only Indian to sucre a victory in Round 1 as Harikrishna Pentala defeated compatriot Arjun Erigaisi. R Praggnanandhaa was held to a draw by Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Abdusattorov, while India’s Leon Luke Mendonca lost to Germany’s Vincent Keymer.

    All other matches in the Round 1 ended in a draw.

    Some of the big matches in Round 2 include India’s Arjun Erigaisi taking on 2023 winner Anish Giri, while world No.2 Fabiano Caruana of the USA faces Dutch GM Jorden van Foreest. In another all-India clash, Praggnanandhaa takes on Harikrishna.

    In the Challengers segment, India’s Vaishali Rameshbabu defeated Argentina’s Faustino Oro while Divya Deshmukh suffered a defeat to Uzbekistan’s Nodirbek Yakubboev.
