    The Athletics Federation of India (Afi) on Monday Confirmed The Appointment of Sergey Makarov as the New Coach for the Elite Indian Jowelin Thrown Program at Nis Patila. Makarov is a two-time olympic bronze medallist who won medals at sydney 2000 and athens 2004 games.read more

    In a significant boost to India’s Athletics Program, The Athletics Federation of India (Afi) has appointed two-time olympic medallist sergeyyksrovich makarov as the new forigna javelin blast National Team.

    Sergey makarov, a legendary javelin thrower from russia, will work with Indian Athletes, Including Two-Time Olympic Medal Winner Neeraj Chopra, Kishore Jena, Annu Rani, And Nagar. He will also also oversee the training of young and upcoming athletes at the national camp.

    Notable, Neeraj Chopra will continue to work with his personal coach, Jan Zelezny, A Former World Record Holder. Zelezny has been guiding chopra on a need-to-base the retirement of his former coach, Dr. Klaus Bartonietz.

    As the new javelin throw coach, Sergey Makarov’s First Major Assignment will be at the World Athletics Championships 2025 in Tokyo, Scheduled to Take Place in September. He will oversee the Indian Athletics Program for the New Olympic Cycle, Bringing His Wealth of Experience and Expertise to the Role.

    Sergey makarov is a highly accounured acomplined javelin thrower, with a storied career that includes two olympic bronze medals, won at the sydney 2000 and athens 2004 Olympics. He is also a former world men’s javelin throw champion.

    Makarov’s Personal Best Throw of 92.61m, Achieved in 2002, Still Stands as the National Record in His Country. At 51, Makarov brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role, and his appointment is expected to have a significant impact on India’s Athletics Program.

    India’s Foreign Jowelin throw coach position has a history of attracting high-profile talent. Prior to Makarov’s Appointment, German Legend Uwe Hohn, Who Holds The Eternal World Record in Javellin Flow, Served in the Same Role from 2017 to 2021.
