    A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with CEGIS and TRI to strengthen good governance.

    A historic agreement was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister: Revolutionary improvements will be made in administrative transparency, financial discipline, and policy-making.

    The crackdown on corruption will be tightened, and the common people will benefit from government schemes easily.

    Raipur, February 18, 2025/ The Chhattisgarh government has taken a historic step to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective administration in the state. In the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Department of Good Governance and Convergence signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) and Transforming Rural India (TRI). This partnership will enhance administrative efficiency and strengthen the effective monitoring and implementation of schemes.

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that ensuring the correct and effective use of resources is our priority. With this objective, we have established the ‘Department of Good Governance and Convergence’ in the state. This 58th department will not only simplify administrative processes but will also help in the effective implementation of government schemes. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the MoU signed today will bring about revolutionary changes in administrative transparency, financial discipline, and policy-making.

    E-governance and digital transformation will get a boost.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai explained that this initiative will give a new dimension to facilities like e-governance, digital transformation, grievance redressal mechanisms, and real-time monitoring of schemes. This MoU will not only promote the skill development and capacity building of government employees and youth but will also make government schemes more effective and accessible. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that there will be a strict clampdown on corruption and the common people will receive the benefits of government schemes without any hindrance.

    Policy making will get a new direction with the cooperation of CEGIS and TRI.

    Shri Karthik Murlidharan, Founder of CEGIS, said that we will provide technical, analytical, and strategic support for the effective implementation of the state’s policies and schemes in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh government. We will also assist the government in strategic budgeting and financial management. He also said that Chhattisgarh will benefit immensely from global expertise and data-driven policymaking.

    Rural development will get a new dimension with the cooperation of TRI.

    Under the agreement with TRI for the sustainable development of rural areas, education, health, women’s empowerment, and water conservation will receive a new direction. Shri Shreesha Kalyani, Associate Director of TRI, explained that we will cooperate with the Chhattisgarh government in empowering local governance, increasing community participation, and accelerating rural development. This is an important step towards bringing about comprehensive improvements in areas such as education, health, agriculture-based livelihoods, and climate adaptation.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated and wished the representatives of the Department of Good Governance and Convergence, CEGIS, and TRI for this important agreement. He said that this partnership will open new avenues for administrative reforms in Chhattisgarh and the people of the state will get quick and effective benefits of the schemes.

    On the occasion of this historic agreement, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary said that this MoU will play an important role in realizing the vision of good governance in Chhattisgarh.

    On this occasion, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh, Secretary, Department of Good Governance and Convergence Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri P. Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Basavaraju S, and representatives from CEGIS and TRI were present.
