Youth of the State are Soaring in the Open Skies Here via Micro Light Aircraft

Chief Minister, Finance Minister, Education Secretary, and Jashpur Collector Made Efforts

All Resources for Security and Facilities Gathered at Aagadih Airport for the Training

Raipur, March 10, 2025/ Currently, Air NCC flying training is underway at Aagadih Airport in Jashpur. NCC cadets are being given all the basic information, from flying small airplanes and landing on the runway to every part of the aircraft, from the cockpit, and the controls of the aircraft.

According to Wing Commander V. K. Sahu, this training, which has been conducted since the 7th of this month, currently has 35 trainee cadets participating, and by the end of this month, under the banner of 3 CG Air Squadron Raipur, the youth of the state are learning to fly in the open skies of Jashpur. Through Air NCC, cadets of the NCC Senior Division, including both boys and girls, are being trained on the Aagadih airstrip in Jashpur using 2-seater micro-light aircraft.

This Training Will Prove to Be a Milestone

Wing Commander V. K. Sahu said that this training is very effective for young people who choose a career in the Air Force and aviation. He said that he himself is a resident of Lakhauli in the Basna area, and he first flew as an NCC cadet, which later proved to be a milestone for his career. He said that this training is helpful for young people going to the Air Force or the aviation sector for admission to flying school. He mentioned that this training was shifted to Jashpur due to limited flight opportunities at Mana Airport in Raipur. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary, Education Secretary of the State, and Collector of Jashpur, Rohit Vyas, for this entire training campaign, thanks to whose efforts all kinds of arrangements have been made at Jashpur airstrip with medical staff, an ambulance, and a firefighting squad, due to which the entire team and the cadets’ accommodation, food, and all training work is going smoothly.

Wing Commander V. K. Sahu said that this training was being conducted at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Mana, Raipur, but due to the pressure of air traffic at Mana Airport, it was difficult to provide aircraft flight training to 100 cadets in between. After this, it was decided to shift this training to another small airport or runway in the state. After this, Aagadih Airport in Jashpur was selected, the calm environment and runway here have proved to be very good for this training, this entire training and the Air NCC cadets will also prove to be a milestone for Jashpur. The experience of flying over Jashpur is unique. Air, which is included in the micro-light aircraft flight training, is such a trainer aircraft in which Air NCC cadets are being trained to fly with a 2-seater micro-light aircraft. It consumes 13 liters of fuel in one hour of flight and has the capacity to fill 50 liters of aviation fuel. It can be flown to a height of 20,000 feet, but for the time being, trainee cadets are being taught to fly it at a height of about 1000 feet. According to information, it took this aircraft 2 hours and 5 minutes to fly from Raipur to Jashpur.

NCC Cadets Vansh Kumar, S. R. Sahu, Anju Sinha, Bipasha Parihar, and Simran Sahu said that they had also taken Air NCC training at Mana Airport in Raipur earlier, but the calm atmosphere of Jashpur, the Aeronautical Environment here, and getting training as a co-pilot next to the pilot is a unique experience.
