    Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has achieved an important achievement in wildlife conservation. Madhav National Park at Shivpuri has been declared the 9th Tiger Reserve of the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of the establishment of the country’s 58th and Madhya Pradesh’s ninth tiger reserve, saying, “India is rich in wildlife diversity, the culture here respects wildlife. We will always be at the forefront of protecting animals. ” He said that the central government is fully committed to conservation of wildlife and environment.

    Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that special attention will be taken to maintain co-existence of other species while developing a new tiger sanctuary for free wandering a symbol of the launch of the 9th Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh. It is not a zoo, but an open housing, which is accessible to both wildlife and the general public. He said that there is a unique scenario of co-existence of human and wildlife in our state.     Madhya Pradesh leading in forest and tree cover

    According to ‘India Forest Station Report-2023’, Madhya Pradesh tops the country with 85,724 square kilometers of forest and tree cover. The forest cover area of ​​the state is 77,073 square kilometers, which is the highest in the country. Madhya Pradesh first implemented the Wildlife Protection Act in the country in 1973. The Satpura Tiger Reserve has been included in the possible list of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    The highest tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh

    Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of 9 tigers reserved. These include Kanha, Pench, Bandhavgarh, Panna, Satpura, Veerangana Durgavati, Sanjay-Dubari, Ratapani and now Madhav Tiger Reserve. There are 11 National Parks, 24 sanctuaries in the state. White Tiger Safari has been developed in Mukundpur for the protection of white tigers.

    52 years for Tiger Reserve visit in the state

    In 1973, Kanha-Kasali National Park was declared Tiger Reserve in the 9 Tiger Reserve of the state. This was followed by Pench Tiger Reserve-1992, Panna Tiger Reserve-1993-94, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve-1993-94, Satpura Tiger Reserve-1999-2000, Sanjay Tiger Reserve-2011, Veerangana Durgavati Tests Reserve-2023, Raatpani Tiger Reserve-2023, Ratigapani Tiger Reserve-2024 and Madhav Tiger Reserve-2025.

    Tourism and employment will get a boost

    The development of Naveen Ratapani and Madhav Tiger Reserve will not only help preserve wildlife in these areas, but will also promote tourism. This will create new employment opportunities for the local people. Both are close to the reserve cities. Ratapani is close to the state capital Bhopal and Madhva Reserve Shivpuri.

    Plan to reduce human-rich creature struggle

    The Government of Madhya Pradesh has developed wildlife corridors to make wildlife conservation more effective. Also, 14 regional and 1 state level rescue squad have been formed. The compensation amount has been increased from 8 lakh to 25 lakh rupees in cases of human-rich organism struggle.

    9th Madhav Tiger Reserve: A brief introduction

    The Madhav National Park was once announced in the year 1958 in Shivpuri, the summer capital of the princely state of Scindia. Now it has become a tiger reserve. Its area is 375233 sq km. Sankhya Sagar and Madhav Sagar Lakes keep this sanctuary green and maintain the ground water level here. Sankhya Sagar Lake has also been declared the Ramsar Site in the year 2022. Crocodiles are also found in abundance in the marshy area along their banks. Apart from this, deer chinkara, wolf, Sahi dragon, rabbit, leopard and many other wildlife species as well as native and migratory birds are also inhabited.

    The new gift of Madhav Tiger Reserve will prove to be a milestone towards wildlife conservation by strengthening the identity of ‘Tiger State’ of Madhya Pradesh.
