Vishnu Deo Government Had Announced in the Budget

Raipur, April 1, 2025 / Giving a major relief to the general public, the Vishnu Deo Sai government has reduced the price of petrol in the new financial year 2025-26 budget, announcing a reduction of Re 1 per liter, which came into effect from midnight on March 31. With this, the price of petrol in Raipur has now decreased to Rs 100.42 per liter. This reduction has come after a long-standing demand of the people of the state. Petrol prices are above Rs 100 per liter in all cities of the state including the capital Raipur. The reduction in the price of petrol will provide relief to the common people of the state. On the other hand, the state government will suffer a revenue loss. However, officials of the Commercial Tax Department say that the revenue loss will be compensated by increased consumption.

It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government has reduced the price of petrol by ₹1 per liter in the 2025-26 budget to give relief to the public, which will benefit the common people, farmers and industries. Earlier, the government had reduced VAT on bulk diesel purchases to 17%, which reduced the cost of transportation and agricultural activities.
