    Chhattisgarh is progressing towards a developed Bastar with skill development: 85 courses registered under the Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme in Bastar Division

    Under the Niyad Nellanar scheme, skill training has been given to 457 youths from 95 identified villages in 24 camps of Bastar Division

    Out of the surrendered Maoists, 222 have been trained for employment, 62 others are undergoing training

    Raipur, April 15, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, while sharing the government’s vision regarding skill development and employment in Bastar at the Developed Bastar program held in Jagdalpur today, said that it is our privilege that when we were Members of Parliament, the Ministry of Skill Development was formed in the country – and today this department is playing a revolutionary role in shaping the future of the youth of the country. Chief Minister Shri Sai appreciated the ongoing skill development efforts in Bastar. He said that skilling is not limited to just one sector — skill development is possible in many fields such as language training, foreign employment, handicrafts, agriculture, food processing, tourism, construction, and technology.

    The Chief Minister said that Bastar is now moving towards peace. After peace, the biggest challenge is to provide employment to the youth here. And we will do this work with full dedication. He said that the government will not only focus on skill development but will also work towards making the local people self-reliant through local resources. This will not only make the youth of Bastar self-reliant but will also create a recognition for their skills throughout the country and the world.

    It is noteworthy that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Skill Department is conducting Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme, PM Skill Development Scheme, PM Vishwakarma Scheme, and Niyad Nellanar Scheme for skill up-gradation and employment training of youth in the division, moving towards a developed Bastar. The proposal to give priority to Naxal-affected youth, in particular, is included in these employment training programs.

    85 courses are registered under the Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme in Bastar Division. Its complete online implementation is done through the portal. Residential training facility is available in all districts. Currently, there are 64 Vocational Training Providers (VTPs). Under the scheme, 90,273 youths have been trained so far. Out of the trained youth, 39,137 youths are employed. 32 Skill Development Centers have been established, which include a plan to train and provide employment to 4,915 youths in the coming times.

    As per the proposed target for the year 2025-26, 4,915 youths are to be trained and 5,875 employment opportunities are to be provided through 456 employers. For this, agreements have been made with institutions like Mahindra & Mahindra, Nandi Foundation, MSDC International, and NITI Aayog.

    Under the PM Skill Development Scheme in Bastar Division, 64% of the target has been achieved in the year 2024-25 and under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, 6 thousand 123 people have been trained so far.

    Moving towards a developed Bastar, under the Niyad Nellanar scheme, skill training has been given to 457 youths from 95 identified villages in 24 camps of Bastar Division. Along with this, a survey has been conducted for employment training of 5 thousand 598 youths in these villages. Under the scheme, 222 surrendered Maoists have been trained for employment, while 62 are undergoing training.

    Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap, MLA Shri Kiran Singh Dev, Shri Vinayak Goyal, Principal Secretary Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Skill Development Department Shri Bharti Dasan, Director of Skill Development Department Shri Vijay Dayaram K., Collectors of all the districts of Bastar Division, people from institutions related to skill development were present in the Developed Bastar discussion held in Jagdalpur.
