    Chhattisgarh government signs 4 important MOUs regarding skill development of youth, new doors of employment will open

    Chief Minister inaugurates NITI Aayog’s workshop on skill, employment and livelihood

    State support mission is being operated to provide employment to the youth

    Raipur, May 02, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated a workshop based on expanding skill development, employment and livelihood opportunities for youth, women and tribal communities in Chhattisgarh under the State Support Mission of the NITI-State Workshop Series in Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this workshop is very relevant according to the needs of the changing times. India is a young country and if the youth get skill training according to their interest and ability, we can achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ rapidly. On this occasion, four important Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed today by the State Department of Skill Development, Technical Education and Higher Education.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that plans are being made keeping the youth, women and tribal communities at the center to make Chhattisgarh a developed state by 2047. He appreciated the NITI Aayog’s aspirational districts initiative and said that it has brought about a change in the tribal areas. He said that with better implementation of the State Support Mission, new employment opportunities will be easily available for the youth, women and tribal communities of the state through training for livelihood. He said that by connecting the youth with skills, they can be made employable.

    The Chief Minister informed that the government has been rapidly promoting skill development since the year 2013. He informed that the state government is working on empowering Livelihood Colleges, ITIs and women self-help groups. Giving information about the agreement with Mahindra & Mahindra Company, he said that under this, the youth of the state will be taught modern techniques of tractor manufacturing. He said that this initiative will bring positive changes in the lives of rural youth and their families in the Bastar and Sarguja regions. The Chief Minister said that there is huge demand for skills like electricians, plumbers, mechanics in rural areas, but the availability of skilled workers is less. The government is preparing a comprehensive plan to provide training in these areas. Along with this, he also emphasized on promoting the livelihood of local people by value addition from forest products like Mahua, Tamarind, Sal.

    Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that special courses and training programs will be made available for tribal youth of Bastar and Sarguja regions in the upcoming schemes. Also, preparations are being made to open self-employment and entrepreneurship training centers for women. He informed that work is being done to bring investment and employment opportunities by signing MOUs with various big companies. He said that it is necessary to connect skill and industry. Employment opportunities will be more when both are together. He said that emphasis is being given on creating new employment by training youth in industries based on local resources (such as agriculture, fruits, handicrafts). Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma said that the influence of Maoism is now decreasing in Bastar and we are creating new employment opportunities for the youth. He informed that the state government will soon start an e-hub, where youth doing innovation will get prototype, funding and marketing facilities.

    Addressing the workshop, Secretary of Skill Development, Technical Education Shri S. Bharati Dasan said that under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme, so far about 4.83 lakh youth have been trained in Chhattisgarh, out of which more than 2.66 lakh youth have also got employment.

    Program Director of NITI Aayog, Dr. Sonia Pant said that NITI Aayog’s ‘State Support Mission’ has been prepared with the aim of providing technical assistance to the states in the implementation of their economic and social development plans. She emphasized on strengthening forest-based livelihood programs in tribal areas and said that it will increase the income of the tribal community. Dr. Pant informed that NITI Aayog will provide all possible help in increasing the participation of tribal youth in state-level schemes and connecting them with new technology and skills.
