BJP MLA Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta from Panki, Jharkhand, initiated a protest at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi due to a room allocation dispute. Despite prior booking confirmations for two rooms, he was informed that only one room was available. He chose to sit on the floor of the reception area and consume his breakfast in protest. The MLA criticized the management of the Jharkhand Bhawan and questioned its utility if it could not accommodate Jharkhand’s elected representatives. He urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to address the situation, holding the responsible individuals accountable, and ensuring improved accommodation for Jharkhand’s MLAs. The Jharkhand Bhawan, a state-of-the-art facility inaugurated in September 2024, features 50 guest rooms, suites for VIPs and top officials, and offers a range of modern facilities across its seven floors.
