Bihar Elections: Chirag Paswan Says He’s Focused on Improving LJP’s Strike Rate, Not CM Post

Union Minister Chirag Paswan is contemplating contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. However, his primary goal is to boost the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)’s strike rate, not to seek the Chief Minister’s position. He believes a better strike rate will benefit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Paswan denied having any ambitions for the CM’s chair, regretting any efforts to create discord within the alliance. He stated that the decision to contest the election rests with his party’s parliamentary board. He noted that the BJP frequently fields its national leaders in state elections. Paswan predicts that the NDA, under Nitish Kumar, will form a strong government after the elections. The LJP will commence its election campaign with a rally in Arrah, the headquarters of Bhojpur district. There is speculation that Paswan might contest from a seat in the Shahabad region. Further rallies are planned before the election, each covering multiple districts.
