In a ceremony held in New Delhi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah honored officials for their pivotal roles in the recent anti-Naxal operations, congratulating them on their historic success. He reiterated the Modi government’s resolve to free India from the scourge of Naxalism. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.

On social media, the Home Minister expressed his appreciation for the officers and shared his anticipation of meeting the soldiers who ensured the operations’ success, announcing a forthcoming visit to Chhattisgarh. These operations were carried out under his direction.

Notably, anti-Maoist operations were conducted by security forces in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of the Union Home Minister. The operation in the interior areas of Abujhmad, involving police forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur, culminated in an encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests near Boter village. This resulted in the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju, and the seizure of substantial weapons and ammunition.

Among those honored were Chhattisgarh’s top police officials, including Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam. The ceremony was also attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, and other high-ranking officials.
