A BJP MLA from Jharkhand, Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, expressed his dissatisfaction after not being provided a room at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. He had pre-booked two rooms, but only one was acknowledged upon his arrival. The MLA sought clarification on room occupancy and the presence of Jharkhand officials, but the information provided was deemed inadequate. As a form of protest, he sat on the floor at the reception and consumed his breakfast. Mehta criticized the management of the Jharkhand Bhawan, which was built with significant public funds. He appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take corrective action, emphasizing the need for efficient operation and accessibility for Jharkhand MLAs. The modern Jharkhand Bhawan, located in Connaught Place, Delhi, was completed on September 3, 2024. This seven-story building, costing over 100 crore rupees, is equipped with modern facilities, including 50 guest rooms, various suites for dignitaries, and special provisions for VVIPs. The structure covers a total site area of 2808 square meters, with 45 guest rooms, 18 suite rooms, and 2 VVIP suites. The fifth and sixth floors feature a total of 16 VIP suites, and the seventh floor has two VVIP suites reserved for the Chief Minister and Governor.
