The ‘dusting’ challenge, a perilous trend on social media, has claimed the life of 19-year-old Renna O’Rourke from Arizona. The practice involves inhaling household cleaners to achieve a temporary euphoric state, however, it can be fatal. Renna’s father stated that a keyboard cleaner, acquired by her boyfriend without their knowledge, was used in this case. The resulting cardiac arrest caused her to be placed in intensive care, and eventually, she was declared brain dead. This trend, also known as ‘huffing’ or ‘chroming,’ carries a high risk of heart failure. Renna’s family is actively campaigning to make others aware of the risks and dangers, urging parents to be vigilant about what their children are doing. They are also raising money to cover the financial burden of the tragedy.
