Naxals launched an IED attack in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, leading to the death of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuring numerous police officers. The incident took place near Dondra village during a patrol conducted due to a bandh called by Naxals. The injured were promptly taken to Konta hospital for medical attention, where the ASP succumbed to his injuries. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra offered condolences, recognizing the ASP’s bravery and acknowledging his sacrifices. The attack adds to the ongoing security challenges in the region, as the government continues its efforts to combat Naxalism.
